The Client

Tile Warehouse is one of the UK’s fastest growing online tile retailers, equipping homeowners with the tiles, as well as the tools, to transform the interior and exterior of their homes. As a new brand, Tile Warehouse has entered the market as a ‘pure-play’ retailer solely focusing on online sales and the value tile consumer market.

The Challenge

For the project as a whole there were four main challenges:

  • Specialist resource availability
  • Access to digital assets
  • Timeline coordination
  • Technical partner coordination

 

This was a complete BigCommerce site build utilising our knowledge of WordPress to provide a content hub and it also involved in depth customer research leading to the creation of a new brand identity and guidelines. The project involved a number of vital integrations between a number of different technical partners with different systems. Coordination between all the involved parties was a particular challenge, especially where different systems cross-communicate.

Our Solution

5874 began with a discovery process that takes a deep dive into the client’s requirements. The discovery helps both parties gain a deeper understanding of the project details, including the current challenges, competitor analysis, project goals and potential technology solutions. The outcome of discovery presents a full solution design of all the functional and non-functional requirements, and details including costs and timescales.

It was evident early on in the discovery phase that BigCommerce would be the most cost-effective and viable solution due to its open architecture, security and automatic updates.

BigCommerce’s secure, high-capacity servers have an average uptime of more than 99.99%, which means that the likelihood of a store going down for more than a few minutes per year is extremely small. For Tile Warehouse, providing a great user experience is essential to the brand’s values and the fact that BigCommerce is scalable, secure and cost effective made it the right platform for the client.
