Last weekend, the 5874 team came together for our annual BBQ celebration. Long gone are the days of our CEO Rupert Cross hosting the team in his back garden, as over 50 guests gathered at The Pump House in Stratford-Upon-Avon instead.
Our growing team grew even more as we bought our families along to celebrate another successful year of exciting projects, promotions and milestones. There were burgers and booze for the adults and a bouncy castle for the little ones. We could have called it the ‘58 Sports Day’ given the highly competitive rounds of netball, cricket and table tennis witnessed!
Huge thanks go out to 5874’s Culture & People Manager, Liz Parr, who put in many hours to organise such a wonderful event. We also celebrated Project Director, James Folkard’s 5 years since joining the team – congrats James! He’ll soon be planning that paid 4-week sabbatical and we can’t wait to hear all about it.
We’ve always put people first, which is why this annual BBQ is something we’ve continued to do regardless of how quickly the team is growing. It’s important to recognise that who we see at the office isn’t entirely who we are. There’s a whole bunch of people that support us behind-the-scenes and we consider them a part of 5874 Commerce too. Getting to know each other better, having fun and meeting each other’s families have been crucial to our success and productivity. That’s why this annual BBQ is so important to us and something we’ll be sure to continue.
