Back to BlogHow to Sell Your Products on Facebook and Instagram With BigCommerce
Created as a means for people to connect with family and friends worldwide, social media is now a huge part of our daily lives. Since gaining popularity, social media has evolved into a constant stream of news, entertainment and networking – and it’s changing daily. Platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have billions of users and are constantly making updates to improve user experience.
In recent years, social commerce has been introduced to offer businesses another channel to push their products. Given the amount of potential customers merchants could reach with a single post, it’s surprising this feature hasn’t been utilised more.
Setting up shopping on Facebook and Instagram has never been easier than with BigCommerce’s improved integration. Using Facebook’s built-in setup wizard, online retailers can easily setup and manage their product catalog, alongside the Facebook Pixel and their Facebook Shop Page.
What Are Shoppable Posts?
An immersive storefront means that users have the ability to shop products featured in your Facebook and Instagram posts via product tags. A tap on your post can reveal what products are available to buy, how much they cost and the relevant link to that product so the user can make the purchase. This feature allows users to discover products in an entirely new way. Brands now have the opportunity to gain more conversions through organic content.
For US stores, Checkout on Instagram allows consumers to complete their transaction entirely within the Instagram app, with the tags redirecting to your storefront to complete checkout.
