Leading provider of veterinary medical technology creates scalable and integrated digital ecosystem

Movora is a leading provider of veterinary medical technology and orthopedic solutions, dedicated to advancing pet health through innovative surgical tools and comprehensive educational opportunities. With over 30 years of experience, Movora offers a broad portfolio of products, including implants, power equipment, and instruments, to veterinary professionals worldwide. The company supports practitioners with continuing education, ensuring they have the skills needed to deliver the best outcomes for companion animals. Movora’s commitment extends globally, serving over 51 countries across six continents.

The Challenge

Movora faced a significant digital challenge: a fragmented online presence with over 20 disparate websites operating independently. These sites were connected to various regional ERP systems via point-to-point integrations, creating inefficiencies and risk. Without a unified strategy, Movora struggled to present itself as a cohesive global enterprise.

Additionally, Movora’s reliance on spreadsheets for product information management (PIM) led to inconsistencies, limited governance, and inefficiencies. The lack of integrated systems also hindered scalability and multilingual capabilities, restricting Movora’s ability to cater to its global audience.

The Solution

We adopted a staged approach to digitally transform Movora’s operations and streamline their ecommerce ecosystem:

Implementation of Akeneo for Global Product Information Management

Movora transitioned from spreadsheets to a centralised PIM system using Akeneo. This introduced governance, improved collaboration, and enabled efficient management of product data for global audiences.

Headless Architecture with Next.js and Builder.io

Replacement of the outdated WordPress global website with a headless architecture powered by Next.js and Builder.io., supported multiple languages and offers robust customisation for regional requirements.

iPaaS Integration Using Jitterbit

To streamline operations, we integrated Jitterbit to connect Akeneo, BigCommerce, and Microsoft Business Central (ERP). This setup allows for automated data flows, ensuring consistent and enriched product information across ecommerce and ERP systems.

Modular Website Rollouts

The corporate website was launched to replace the WordPress site in September 2024 and the European ecommerce site followed in January 2025, built as a subdirectory with dedicated instances of BigCommerce to accommodate regional needs.

Searchspring for Enhanced User Experience

Powering advanced search capabilities, enabling personalised recommendations and streamlined product discovery for Movora’s B2B customers.

Scalability for Global Expansion

The new architecture and integrations lay the groundwork for launching additional regional sites, including the US and Canada, at a reduced cost and timeline.

A key challenge was managing the transition without disrupting operations. 5874 Commerce addressed this with a phased approach, starting with Akeneo and Jitterbit integration.

Using Jitterbit and Akeneo allowed Movora to scale quickly, adapting to new acquisitions and market expansions. This flexibility was crucial for a company with an ambitious growth strategy.

The RESULT

For the first time, Movora can provide real-time product availability, enhancing their customer experience and operational efficiency. Veterinary clinics could quickly access and order the necessary implants, knowing exactly when they would be delivered.

    Improved Operational Efficiency
The centralised PIM and integrated ERP systems streamlined operations, reducing redundancies and manual errors.
  • Item Icon
    Enhanced Customer Experience
Real-time product availability and a seamless ordering process significantly improved customer satisfaction.
  • Item Icon
    Scalability
The integrated digital ecosystem allowed Movora to easily incorporate new acquisitions and expand into new markets.

Movora’s disparate websites have been unified under a centralised system, aligning with their corporate identity and improving user experience.

The automated data flows between Akeneo, BigCommerce, and Microsoft Business Central have reduced manual errors and inefficiencies and the modular, composable architecture allows for rapid deployment of new regional websites and integration of additional systems like CRM and learning management solutions. In addition, the advanced search functionalities and multilingual capabilities have improved customer satisfaction and accessibility.

Movora is now equipped to operate as a digitally mature global business, capable of scaling efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service. Their journey exemplifies the transformative potential of a well-executed digital strategy.
